About us
Idisen is a non-profit organization aimed at helping female developers to succeed and thrive within the game industry.
Idisen was created by two female developers, Merel & Goedele. We noticed how game jams give an immense creative boost, create friendships and are so much fun. We want to give fellow female developers the opportunity to jam in a female environment.
Conclusion: there are never enough games jams!
Our Story
As a woman in the game industry, you often find yourself in teams with mostly men. That’s why we want to offer the unique opportunity to collaborate in an environment consisting solely of female-identifying developers.
Game jams are an excellent means for this purpose. In a game jam, a small team – often made up of strangers – comes together to develop a game in a short period of time. These kinds of events stimulate creativity and connection among participants. During a game jam, game developers have the chance to experiment with styles or methods that may not be feasible in a corporate project.
The idea of organising a 9 day long game jam, giving everyone plenty of time to connect, was born during a weekend away in the Belgian forests.
To stimulate connection between the participants we specifically choose a longer time frame than a regular in person game jam.

Our goals
- Cultivate and empower female game developers.
- Positive impact on the industry.
- Cross-cultural exchange to strengthen relationships and networks.
- Cultivate skills in a positive environment.
