Concept
In a game jam, a small team – made up of strangers – comes together to develop a game in a short period of time. During a game jam, game developers have the chance to experiment with styles or methods that may not be feasible in a corporate project. Our long form game jam aims to stimulate creativity but also provides time for connection among participants.
As a woman in the game industry, you often find yourself in teams with mostly men. That’s why we want to offer the unique opportunity to collaborate in an environment consisting solely of female-identifying developers.
By women we mean all women. Cis women, trans women, and gender minorities who are comfortable within a female dominant space.
For whom?
For industry professionals. You don’t need to be an extrovert or an industry genius to join. We do specifically target developers with some experience, this can be professional but also in hobby projects.
It’s not a skill contest, we just want to give you an opportunity to create something fun in a different setting than usual.
The spaces are limited. We can only accept 12 devs. We aim to have a balance in the group based on diversity in both nationalities and in seniorities.
When?
The game jam takes place from a Saturday till the Sunday the next week. We aim to plan the jam in the summer months.
The first Saturday is an ‘arrival day’ and the last Sunday after breakfast we say goodbye to one another. This gives everyone the opportunity to get to the location and back home.
Where?
For the 2026 edition, we will stay at “Hoeve Oswald”. An ecofriendly and wheelchair accessible lodge in Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Located in a quiet zone next to some forest.
The venue has 24 beds divided over 7 rooms and 6 bathrooms. More information about the venue can be found on their website.
What to expect?
A week packed with game jamming, plus extra activities like a relevant workshop, a company visit, some fun social activities to decompress and a closing BBQ to round off the programme. The schedule below gives you an idea of what to expect, but might be slightly different when we finalize the programme every year.

You can set your own schedule with your team during the jam days. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, it’s up to you! Meals will be served at regular hours and will be home-cooked by us.
Expect to meet fun people, share stories and maybe even create a portfolio piece!
Before you start, we’ll send you a document with all the practical info. You’ll also be invited to join our Discord group to chat and get to know everyone beforehand.
